Atte Ojanen
Atte is in charge of coordinating Demos Helsinki’s European research funding to enable societal transformation. As a research manager, he is your go-to-person in Horizon Europe and other research collaboration matters. Atte’s own research centers on societal effects of emerging technology, the ethics of AI, and deliberative democracy.
Atte is also currently a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Turku, focusing on democratic long-term governance in the context of climate and technology. Before joining us, he gained experience working at the in-house think tank of the European Parliament and at the research unit of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, with focus on global trends and strategic foresight.
At Demos Helsinki, Atte has worked on research projects such as KT4D, TANDEM and Avoiding AI biases.
After-hours, you may spot a glimpse of Atte running on the outskirts of Helsinki in his colorful trainers. He also has a knack for tracking free admission days for museums and has even planned whole travel itineraries around them.
