Jenni Kilpi
Jenni is the Team Lead of the New Governance team of Demos Helsinki.
She works on one of the hardest practical questions of our time: how institutions at every level – multilateral, EU, national – can be structured so that the most difficult strategic challenges can actually be solved, and that belief is built that a path forward is possible. That is done only together, through working in informal and formal coalitions of stakeholders, and through rigorous analytical work backed by research.
For the past four years at Demos Helsinki, she has worked with a variety of clients and consortia through key topics around (the governing of) economic and population policy. Jenni currently leads the EU project MERGE on sustainable inclusive wellbeing. She spends quite a bit of her time travelling, however, when she returns to Helsinki, she is the happiest to be at the Demos Helsinki headquarters, with her team and the whole community.
Jenni’s background is a unique combination of music and political science. A musician by profession, she is inspired by building bridges between unexpected actors and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of the Arts Helsinki on the interconnectedness of music and peacebuilding.
Every autumn, you can find Jenni sipping a pumpkin spice latte and reminiscing about her time in New York – warm drinks and warm thoughts are definitely needed during the Finnish autumn.
