Chaynika Gujela

Chaynika is curious about how people, institutions, and ecosystems coexist, and how we might redesign those relationships for the better. Whether the conversation is about governance, sustainability, or design, she is usually interested in the same underlying question: how do we create systems that help both humans and the more-than-human world thrive?

Before joining Demos Helsinki, Chaynika worked on education and sustainability initiatives across India and later in communications and stakeholder engagement at the European Food Information Council (EUFIC). Originally trained in Plant Science and Biotechnology, Chaynika’s curiosity eventually led her into design. As an Erasmus Mundus scholar, she studied Service Design while living and learning across Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.

At Demos Helsinki, she contributed to projects including Sun4Ukraine contributing around governance, collaboration, and societal transformation. 

Outside work, Chaynika can usually be found on long walks, reading, cooking, or quietly observing the world go by.
