Carolina Jansen

Carol is passionate about people, research, and public policy. She finds poetry in the small things in life and is always ready to work collectively. She believes it is possible to develop a new form of public governance: one that brings together public policy and grassroots technology to protect constitutional rights in vulnerable territories, contributing to local development and addressing poverty, inequality, and social mobility.

Her conviction in this vision runs deep, grounded in both books and practice. She holds a master’s degree in economic and social development, and has worked as a researcher on public policy implementation and evaluation projects in Brazil, with experience in NGOs and universities.

At Demos Helsinki, Carol brings her expertise to projects exploring the intersection of economy and technology, including the Horizon Europe MERGE project and the Salto project.

In her free time, Carol loves spending time with friends and family. Saying no to an invitation is genuinely hard for her. You might find her at a roda de samba, playing futsal, hiking a trail or at a music festival!
