Rita Latikka

Rita is a social psychologist who brings a human-centred perspective to the development and deployment of technologies. Her academic interests include the social acceptance and effects of digital technologies, as well as human-computer interaction. Rita believes that technology is too important to be left solely to technologists and advocates for collaboration across fields and sectors.

Before joining us, Rita conducted research in both academia and the private sector. She holds a doctoral degree in social sciences, with her dissertation focusing on the role of information and communication technology in combating loneliness. Rita has helped companies and organizations solve complex questions through ethnographic research and precise participant recruitment. With a vast toolkit in empirical research methods, Rita happily applies both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

At Demos Helsinki, Rita is involved with ARISE, a project focusing on advancing human-robot interaction in industrial settings.

Outside of working hours, being outdoors and taking a swim are time well spent for Rita.
