Lõmaš Kama
Driven by curiosity and care for climate, biodiversity and environmental topics, Lõmaš places his interest in areas spanning across the built environment, governance, futures, social innovation, and public sector innovation. The bridges connecting all these fields for him are collaboration, imagination, and creativity. With a background in strategic design combining continuous learning and sense making with generative creativity, Lõmaš chases an understanding of complex systems while looking for leverage points in the nitty gritty of wicked problems.
At Demos Helsinki Lõmaš has worked on projects like Reallocate, Net Zero Cities, and Sun 4 Ukraine, exploring sustainable development and regenerative practices in cities from various perspectives.
With a BA in Industrial and Digital Product Design, Lõmaš is finalising his masters studies in Creative Sustainability. Embracing interdisciplinarity, he values breaking silos and collaborating across fields, sectors, and social backgrounds. Lõmaš knows his way around managing and facilitating these discussions and actions with experience and many ideas sparkling about co-creative practices. But that’s not all! Along with co-creativity, he can be found in discussions about promoting collaborative, imaginative and experiential approaches to foresight and futures work, advocating for normative futures rather than only examining where current pathways may take us. Curious about how we feel about, sense, and understand futures, Lõmaš hopes to explore how prototyping futures could infrastructure wider discussions around them.
Out of office, Lõmaš thrives on bicycle adventures short and long, testing and tasting weird combinations in the kitchen, organising activities, and DJ-ing some funky tunes with friends.
