
Bhuvana Sekar
Bhuvana Sekar is an Expert at Demos Helsinki, where she focuses on participatory and service design, design thinking, and strategic impact design, particularly within the public sector. Her work is guided by a commitment to advancing public-sector innovation and social transformation through multidisciplinary collaboration.
Bhuvana holds a Master’s degree in Collaborative and Industrial Design with minors in Creative Sustainability, from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Prior to her time in Finland, she gained extensive global experience designing and delivering product and service experiences for enterprises. Her work included developing collaboration platforms and robotic process automation solutions, as well as playing a leading role in establishing a digital design school and nurturing a professional design community within South Asia.
Drawing from a diverse background that bridges technology, governance, and social innovation, Bhuvana brings a methodical, human-centred approach to building more inclusive and future-resilient systems.
Outside of work, as an avid yoga and dance enthusiast, and you’ll find her playing badminton, sauna-ing, hiking or enjoying a nice cuppa ‘chai’ or matcha with a book in her hands.
