Sawsan Abdulbari

Sawsan turns messy problems into clarity and solutions, and she’s usually already learning about the next thing before the last one’s finished. Data science, machine learning and generative AI, all fascinate her, but the technology itself matters less than what it’s for. When a problem is too tangled to see the shape of, she tends to enjoy figuring it out.

She dove headfirst into mathematics and AI, and kept learning from there through Omdena, Women in Machine Learning and Climate Change AI as well as other international communities. While finishing her degree in Business Information Technology at HAMK, she worked as both a student and a teacher assistant and picked up hands-on experience with PIRHA and Kiipula along the way. Right before joining us, she was building financial models at Dashtera.

At Demos Helsinki, Sawsan works on building internal AI-native systems and new ways of working, while also contributing to multiple projects on the side.

When she’s not untangling problems, Sawsan is reading, learning, or wandering through cities admiring old decorative mouldings. She loves travelling too, especially arriving somewhere new with no plans and following her curiosity.
