Fengjiao Xue

Fengjiao holds an unwavering commitment to building an inclusive, fair, and sustainable society. With an academic background and professional experiences spanning sociology, gender studies, and sustainable development, her core interests lie at affective community building, equal opportunity to resources, mobility across borders, and innovative public governance. She simply cannot hold back when talking about “how we can do things differently” and “using our sociological imagination” (in every way). 

Fengjiao’s analytical toolkit is built on a diverse international career. She has previously managed projects for the United Nations University (UNU-WIDER) and developed inclusive innovation ecosystems at ImpactHub Shanghai. This background, combined with earlier work in translation and theatrical production, allows her to bring multifaceted, creative solutions to complex social policy challenges.

At Demos Helsinki, Fengjiao is honing her policy research skills working primarily on the NetZeroCities project. 

When she isn’t analysing sustainability frameworks, she is likely bouldering, thrifting, enjoying a post-sauna dip, experimenting with cocktails, or relaxing at home with her ukulele.
