Sofia Suomalainen

Sofia is here to help you to navigate sustainability challenges with creative and practical approaches. With a background in arts and business, she combines her passion for transformative initiatives with a strategic mindset. Her ability to organise and collaborate ensures that projects achieve optimal outcomes.

Currently, Sofia works as an interaction expert in two research consortiums: SISU and MUST, focusing on sufficiency solutions and multispecies transitions, respectively. You can learn more about SISU and MUST. 

Before joining Demos Helsinki, Sofia worked with Helsinki Pride and the Nuoret 2023 Exhibition, excelling in project management and organizing collaborations between diverse partners. Her extensive experience in events and project management is supported by her studies at Aalto University Business School, including a minor in accounting.

In her free time, you can find Sofia either chasing after her one-year-old sweetheart or exploring nature through hiking. She’s also an active participant in politics, but prefers to keep it as a hobby. A master organiser, Sofia can arrange anything from socks to events and Excel sheets with ease.
