Lara Best-Dunkley

In a time of unprecedented geopolitical crises, Lara is the go-to person for a comprehensive and critical understanding of international governance and security. She believes in the importance of compassionate, collective and evidence-based decision-making, especially in the domain of hard security. 

Lara has a BSc in International Relations and Organisations from Leiden University and an MA in International Security, with a Research specialisation, from Sciences Po Paris. Her work has focused on the intersections of human rights, European security and defence economics, transnational governance and civil society organisation. Lara’s experience working in think tanks, international conferences and civil society organisations across Finland, Canada, France and the Netherlands gives her an intercultural and multi-domain approach to problem solving. 

In her free time, Lara enjoys being near (or in) the sea, walking in the woods and taking long bus rides to new places.
