Ryan Chua is part of the Governance Innovation team where he brings with him a public sector background on policy-making and research in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
His main interests are on:
- The nexus between governance, institutions and politics
- Building and rebuilding trust in government and institutions
- Co-creating public value through futures thinking and sustainable development
Prior to joining Demos Helsinki, he graduated in law from Cardiff University and was a policy researcher with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia and an intelligence analyst intern with Healix International in Singapore. He has conducted research and published on politics, governance, institutions, sustainability and disinformation. In his free time, he enjoys football, running, cycling, reading, and random bar and café rendezvous.
